Ross River Dena Council Launches New Community Website

On behalf of the Ross River Dena Council, I would like to welcome you to our new community website, www.rossriverdenacouncil.com.

The decision to launch this site was made by Council as a way to help everyone in the community stay informed, stay connected, and stay safe during the COVID-19 crisis.

Chief Jack Caesar

As we are seeing in other remote communities and First Nations across Canada, it is up to all of us to follow the advice of public health officials and do what is necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19. With this in mind, Council believes that a website is one of the safest ways we can communicate with everyone, and allows us to share information with those who have made the important decision to stay indoors and practice physical distancing during the current public health emergency

If you live in Ross River, I encourage you to bookmark this website and let family and friends know that www.rossriverdenacouncil.com will be a source for updates regarding RRDC programs and services as well as important public health news and information, including important COVID-19 notices from our federal and territorial partners.

Looking ahead, I want to reassure everyone that along with setting up a new website, our team will be working hard to ensure essential programs and services will be delivered, while also ensuring necessary precautions are in place that will help protect RRDC staff, as well as the community we serve.

In the coming weeks and months we will build on this site by introducing new sections and features that will help us celebrate our past and prepare for our future. For today, ensuring our members have access to important health and wellness information is our top priority, and this website will play a big part to help us achieve this objective.

So, in support of our elders and for the benefit of our most vulnerable members, I encourage everyone to stay safe and to please practice physical distancing whenever possible. And if you or someone you know has symptoms, even mild symptoms, please self-isolate and Call 8-1-1 or the Ross River Health Centre at (867) 969-4444 for more information.

Thank you to the volunteers and staff who helped make this website possible. Working together let’s do what we can to stay informed, stay connected and stay safe.
